A laboratory of the Community of Madrid (Tres Cantos) now opens its facilities and makes available its research facilities and data on malaria . The GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has decided to open its database of more than 13,500 components with potential anti-malarial. Its facilities located north of Madrid will be made available to scientists worldwide who wish to continue their research on malaria.

A team of Spanish researchers from the University of Valencia and Polytechnic University of Valencia have discovered a huge mask in the forest Maya Guatemalan whose age is estimated between 300 and 600 years AD. It was apparently kept in the lush vegetation that now covers the archaeological ruins of Chalice north of Guatemala.
