In the region of Cadiz, San Fernando more precisely, a discovery of an extraordinary emotional point of view “has been made, according to Eduardo Vijande Vila , the Director of Preventive Archaeological excavations conducted prior to construction of a new field hockey.Since 2008, the team that archaeologist at the University of Cadiz and Fig line-firm archeology, service development and cultural heritage specialist in preventive excavations, gradually unearthed a necropolis dating from the Bronze Age. The Neolithic cemetery is enormous, archaeologists estimate that about 300 bodies were buried there, 83 have already been found. The burials are more or less elaborate, a simple pit grave stones made with medium size and decorated with shells. But it makes a lot of talk now, not a tomb decorated, but a simple pit … shared! Indeed, two people entwined have been found. A symbol of love that has withstood the millennia …

The individual right position, so the sex-a-priori male has not yet been identified, was aged 35 to 40 years at the time of his death. As for the other, it is a girl of 12 to 14, already a woman at the time. What are the links between them since 6,000 years? Were they the same family? Or they formed a relationship? Public opinion has already ruled in favor of the second hypothesis, more romantic, and was named “Los Inamoratos”, that is to say, “The Lovers”! But only DNA testing can determine with certainty the sex of the first individual and the existence or not of a filial relationship.

In all cases, whatever the nature of bonding, this discovery is part of a rare case of “embrace”, and it is certainly the oldest in the world known to date with that of ” Valardo lovers‘ discovered in Italy, and whose age has been estimated between 5,000 and 6,000 years.

In order to preserve intact their embrace, their bodies have been exhumed with great care and it will be possible to discover the next few months “this couple united for eternity” in the Historical Museum of the City of San Fernando.
